construction and deconstruction are intertwined skills but are independent. Construction is quite simply build something. Deconstruction is to take something apart. Of course you can build things without refrence and simply construct from imagination. To deconstruct, you can observe the construction of object. But you can also ignore the form of the object and observe other things and meanings. But for the fundemental skill in drawing, they are itertwined. The fundemental skill of construction and deconstruction in drawing is to break things down into simplest forms, and build ontop of your form to create the underlining structure. When your skills reach high enough, this process isn't necessarily drawn. This process also expands your visual library to eventually use in constructions from memory if you choose to do so.
To construct an observed object or drawing, you must deconstruct what you see into basic shapes. Then build off this form. There are many ways to do this process and often we develope our own models of observtion and construction.
Def of construction in art
To take something apart
Construction and deconstruction go beyound just technical aspects. It can go to the meanings behind the drawing, shape, lighting, color, techniques used or the context the art was made in.
To deconstrcut a piece while constructing our thoughts and interpitations of it:
This is our first impresions of something. No deep thinking. What is it? Do we like it? What does it look like? Does it look like a trope or catgorzation we know?
The research phase, we learn as much information as we can. Who made it? what is the story or idea in the painting? Is there any symbolyism? Are there any special techniques?
